The Edge, The Climb, and The Starting Line

With Workshops and Classes with Special Guest Artists, including professional Broadway actors.

Class Schedule: 

1:30-4:30pm on Saturdays 

September 11 - December 4, 2021; February 5 - April 23, 2022

*No class - October 9, October 16, November 27, December 11-January 29, March 26, April 2

Cost:

Without productions:  $770 or $96.25/8 months

With Fall production only (Into the Woods Jr):  $1120 or $183.75/month fall and $96.25/month spring

For High Schoolers (The Edge) and Advanced Middle Schoolers (The Climb) and Advanced Elementary Students (The Starting Line).  A dynamic training class that balances individual artistic advancement with group and ensemble training, The Edge is designed to give our students “an edge” in all performance arts disciplines.  The Climb is designed to help Middle School students develop qualities of leadership, personal responsibility, and teamwork.  The Starting Line develops fundamental concepts and skills in all performing arts areas to create an artistically-minding, creative, self- and others-trusting student. Students will receive:

1. Level-appropriate group vocal and musicianship training including ensemble techniques, sight reading, ear training, expression, diction, and harmonization with Mary Joy Nelson.
2. Level appropriate group training in physical acting and voice (laban, stock characters, stage combat) with Jack McIntyre and Nathan Allan and group training in improvisation for stage, audition, and film with Margo Buchanan.
3. Musical theatre and jazz choreography styles with Quiana Miller, as well as song and dance work.
4. Dynamic guest teachers and master clinicians.

Class Requirements:

• Students who have previously taken an Advanced Musical Theatre Performance class may register without an interview.
• Students must commit to participate from September 2021 to April 2022.  
• Students in the Edge, the Climb and the Starting Line must take a minimum of one hour of dance per week at the InnOVATION studio.
