National Youth Theatre Experience

NATIONAL YOUTH THEATRE EXPERIENCE 2027

Select intermediate and advanced students will represent InnOVATION Arts Academy at the National Youth Theatre Experience in Louisville, KY March 6 - 8, 2026, presenting a 20-minute festival performance for adjudication by Broadway professionals. Students who attend NYTE take workshops and get to watch all of the groups who attend NYTE perform their adjudication pieces as well. Individual students can opt to perform in solo vocal and solo monologue categories for feedback from the adjudicators. The weekend culminates in a final concert with performances of Broadway professionals on the main stage. COSTS:

• $250 Rehearsal Fee (Students must be registered for NYTE in order to audition for NYTE)

• You may pay the NYTE Rehearsal Fee in full or over 7 months @ $35.71/mo (Sept-Mar)

• NYTE Wristband fees (see below)  

• Additional costs: food, hotel, and travel expenses.

AUDITIONS:

August 28th, 29th, and 30th at ArtsPlace

*Students in both Blue Monarch and Monarch Conservatory who register for NYTE are guaranteed a spot for the 2026-27 season.

*Students in the Intermediate program may audition to be considered for NYTE.  Beginners who have taken 2 years or more of class at InnOVATION may inquire about participating.

REHEARSALS:

January & February (first rehearsal starting January 29th)

Weds/Fri 5:30-8:30PM; Sat 6-8PM; Sun 5:30-7:30PM

March 1st-4th

5:30-9PM

Send-Off on Thursday, March 4th at 7:30PM 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Intermediate and Advanced students audition on August 28th, 29th, and 30th at ArtsPlace

• Students must participate in weekly classes to go to NYTE. 

  
  

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

*All students attending NYTE must be prepared to be an active team player and to present an ensemble-based story with many moving pieces. The nature of a NYTE performance requires some lead character moments, but they will also play ensemble roles. A strong emphasis on group storytelling and ensemble overall is what makes for a successful performance.

*Our rehearsal period is short and intense.  Therefore, only students with minimal or no conflicts will be considered for NYTE 2027. 

NYTE WRISTBAND FEES:

$245/student performer wristband fees due in November 2025.

$195/family member wristband fees due in November 2025.  Each student must travel with one parent or guardian.

$50/solo monologue entry fee

$50/solo vocal entry fee

Families are responsible for food, travel and lodging expenses related to attending NYTE.
